Birthday 35
My birthday was great, although I still don't fully understand why we celebrate these days, and I honestly hope I never understand why people dread them. We ran into a new friend last week who was explaining that ancient cultures celebrated achievements instead of birthdays. Now that's an annual holiday i can get behind! So far each new year of my life has been better than the year before it, so as far as I'm concerned i say bring them on. I can only imagine what are where the next few birthdays will find us. Jen had the day off, so it was a much needed day of relaxing, getting a few items off the urgent list and simply spending time together. We started the morning of with homemade biscuits and gravy on our "patio". A little project spearheaded by tricia while she was in town, but essentially was the transformation of a heavily vined and bug ridden setback into an outdoor space the requires only a simply climbing out our window to enjoy. The rest of our day entailed little bits of this and that. A bit of hat shopping for me although jen still managed to find something fuzzy to try on. A bit of shoe shopping for jen, and some beach volleyball with our team. All of these things tied together by a day off with perfect sunny weather, lead to a very happy bryan.
