Vanlife, and waiting for the universe to decide

Well, it’s about that time...

This is the week we placed on the calendar - the absolute deadline to make a decision about our future. Which boat we’ll be living on and whether we’ll be flying to the South Pacific and moving onto a new boat or sailing svKarma across the Pacific.

Of course the universe hasn’t made that decision as easy or clear cut as we hoped… rarely does she provide that easy of an out. So funny to be having these deep conversations about our “next phase” while temporarily living/travelling in a van and re-living our “last phase”.

We do enjoy #vanlife and no doubt this will be our method of travel again someday. It provides the same simplicity, takes us to natural/remote places and is SO much easier and less stress than life on a boat (by far) - but for now, we simply yearn for the sunshine and the ocean and are excited for what comes next… whatever that is!

After several weeks of living and traveling in a van again… I can honestly say it’s as easy as ever. Despite adapting to a new (to us) van, it was almost as though we never stopped full-time Vanlife.

We are still constantly learning and growing but I’m proud of our ability to be flexible and adaptable in all things. To transition from one phase to another seamlessly and mostly stress free.

Now… we transition again. From weeks of solitude to a few days spent at a massive event that means almost non-stop conversation/presentations (the opposite of our last few weeks).

And after this weekend, yet another transition - back to FL to move aboard svKarma and focus on getting her south to the western Caribbean before storm season to stage for our Pacific crossing.

There’s never only one path to happiness, and usually life is going to make sure there’s countless hurdles and obstacles in the way of all possible paths.

The ability to go with the flow, be present and find happiness in all the phases has served us well (despite still having zero clue what we’re doing or where we’re going).
