Side Hustles

Somehow along the way as we navigate our journey and look for simple but creative ways to live and travel... others start reaching out asking if we can help them by using some of the tools we used in creating our own lifestyle.

So far, each side hustle has started off just that way - but they also seem to follow a similar path:
- us merely getting creative in our own journey to continue the lifestyle we've grown to love...
- others ask for us to help them, based on what we learned on our own project, which we initially do for free.
- Us eventually admitting that while we love the work, that were spending long hours and should probably accept money in exchange.

I would have told you years ago it was impossible, but somehow by merely doing what we love (and clearly would do for free), we've now started profitable businesses that allow us to do that thing we love, work with great like-minded people on their own projects and help keep our own adventure going as a result.

zenbox design

After we converted our 2 car garage into a groovy "zen loft" for us to live in while someone else lived in our house and paid the mortgage, we started helping other design and build garage conversions, ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units) and tiny homes as zenbox design.

Z2Overland

Then again after we designed our own modular DIY campervan interior, which eventually became us helping others by creating modular eco-friendly DIY Kits as ZENVANZ.
We now help design and build vans and overland expedition vehicles (on a much smaller/more intimate scale) as Z2Overland.

Both continue to allow us to help others create the lifestyle they are after, help us feed the travel fund and better yet, allow us to live variously through others' experiences/travels... which is almost as good as sharing a campfire/snorkel with them.

Now, we seem to find ourselves helping others by coaching them through some of the same choices/decisions we had to make in our journey to quit the rat race and find freedom/happiness in unconventional ways... and it's already proving to be equally as creative/exciting and lead to just as many like-minded people and transformative conversations.
